“I had the time to learn English, but I didn’t use it, and I regret it deeply,” he said. He added that he regrets not learning English because it makes him “half ignorant” in situations where he could have interacted with some of the most amazing people in the world.
Messi also talked about how he regrets not taking advantage of the opportunities he had to freely interact with teammates, coaches, and other amazing people from around the world. He admitted that he has often felt frustrated about not taking advantage of these opportunities.
He also talked about how this experience has taught him to take a different approach with his children and how he always tells them to focus entirely on their education so that they do not waste the time that he wasted. “I always tell my kids to focus fully on their studies so they don’t waste the time I did,” he said.
