Pakistan tightens airspace surveillance after US-Israel strikes on Iran

Pakistan is doing little in terms of strengthening its airspace monitoring following the sudden joint attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran. The explosions in Iran and the rising tensions in the region prompted Pakistan to direct the Air Traffic Control authorities in the country to stay on high alert.

According to official briefings, the country’s airlines are advised to avoid the Iranian airspace for the time being in order to ensure the safety of passengers. At the same time, the authorities are closely monitoring the Iranian airspace and the airspace in Afghanistan, which is a clear indication of the country’s concern over the rising tensions in the region.

The move was prompted by early Saturday morning reports of missile attacks in different parts of Iran. According to Iranian sources, the attacks hit different parts of the country, including University Street and Jomhouri. There were also explosions in the area where important government installations are located. Black smoke was also rising from different parts of the city, which increased the fear of a conflict in the Middle East.

Experts in the aviation sector point out that Pakistan is an important country in the region because of the fact that the country is along the route of the most important international flights in the region. These flights connect Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. The conflict in the region is affecting the route of the flights and the fuel used in the flights.

Security experts believe that this decision is a reflection of Islamabad’s cautious approach to dealing with the situation in the wake of regional tensions and rivalry. With already high levels of tension, authorities want to ensure that Pakistani airspace is secure and that no suspicious air activity goes unnoticed.

Global air carriers are reportedly reviewing their routes in the region as concerns about retaliation and escalation deepen.

It is also worth mentioning that Pakistan’s airspace is open and fully functional, and this move is a precautionary measure.

As things develop in this volatile situation, Pakistan’s aviation authorities are on standby to take any additional steps if needed.

It is also worth mentioning that this situation has turned out to be a reflection of how quickly a situation in a volatile region can escalate, impacting air travel in the region and making it a hot spot for vigilance in the skies.
