China has expressed deep concern over rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan and signaled its willingness to play a constructive mediatory role to help de-escalate the situation through dialogue and diplomacy, 24NewsHD TV reported.
According to international media reports, Beijing voiced regret over the recent loss of lives and underscored the need for restraint on both sides.
The Chinese government indicated it is prepared to intensify diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions along the border.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said China is closely monitoring developments between Pakistan and Afghanistan and supports resolving differences through communication and diplomatic engagement.
“China is a close neighbor of both countries and attaches great importance to peace and stability in the region,” she stated, adding that Beijing is ready to play a constructive role in reducing tensions at the diplomatic level.
The spokesperson further said China remains in contact with its “friends” Pakistan and Afghanistan and hopes both sides will exercise restraint and settle disputes through negotiations.
Mao also expressed hope that both countries would ensure the safety and security of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions operating within their territories, highlighting Beijing’s strategic and economic interests in the region.
