Khawaja Asif calls attacks on Iran regrettable’, urges for peace

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has termed the recent attacks on Iran as extremely regrettable, saying the incidents have deeply saddened the people of Pakistan.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the defence minister said Pakistan has stood by Iran through all possible diplomatic and moral support. He added that Islamabad also condemned the attacks at the United Nations, reaffirming its clear position against aggression.

Khawaja Asif appealed to religious parties and the general public to remain calm during this sensitive time. He stressed that while emotions are natural in such situations, it is important to respond with patience and responsibility.

He warned that if protests turn violent or if individuals take the law into their own hands, it would only serve the interests of those who wish to destabilise Pakistan. He said maintaining peace and unity is a collective responsibility.

The defence minister further emphasised that any demonstrations should remain peaceful and that all forms of unrest must be avoided to ensure national stability.
