Pakistanis stranded in Iran start returning home

Pakistanis, stranded in Iran following the US, Israel strikes, have started returning to their homeland via Gwadar and Taftan.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chagai said in Quetta on Monday that 19 Pakistanis (male and female), who were studying at Zahidan Medical University, reached Taftan last night. “Out of these 19 students, 12 belong to Punjab while seven to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP),” he informed.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Gwadar said that 51 Pakistanis had reached the city from Iran. “Among them five are students, while others are pilgrims and tourists,” he elaborated.

He said that those who had returned would now be sent to their native areas.

In light of the situation in Iran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take all possible measures to ensure the safe return of Pakistani nationals from the country.
