US visa service in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi temporarily suspended

ISLAMABAD: The United States Embassy in Islamabad, along with the US Consulates General in Lahore and Karachi, on Tuesday announced suspension of visa services and cancelled all appointments until March 6.

According to US diplomatic officials, this decision was taken “as a precautionary measure in view of the current security situation.”

During this period, all scheduled visa interviews and other related appointments will remain cancelled.

The embassy has advised visa applicants to monitor the official website and the instructions issued via email for further information and new appointment dates.

Officials stated that the security situation is being continuously reviewed, and updates regarding the resumption of visa services will be provided once conditions return to normal.

Various diplomatic missions stationed in Pakistan have made temporary changes to their routine operations due to security concerns in the wake of US and Israel joint attack on Iran.
