Hezbollah targets Israeli airbase as cross-border tensions escalate

Hezbollah announced that it carried out a drone strike on Israel’s Ramat David Airbase, intensifying an already volatile confrontation along the Israel–Lebanon border.

In a statement, the group said its drones struck the airbase’s control room and radar systems. Hezbollah described the operation as a direct response to ongoing Israeli airstrikes inside Lebanon, framing the attack as retaliation rather than escalation.

On the other side, Israel launched fresh air raids on southern Beirut, marking another round of bombardment in densely populated areas. Israeli officials also issued new evacuation warnings for residents in 59 additional towns across Lebanon.

According to the warnings, Israeli forces consider these areas potential targets due to alleged Hezbollah activity. Civilians received instructions to move at least one kilometer away from locations linked to the group. The advisory stressed that anyone remaining near Hezbollah facilities could face serious danger.

The exchange highlights a sharp rise in military activity between the two sides, raising fears of a broader conflict as airstrikes, drone attacks, and civilian displacement continue to increase across the region.
