Israel-Hezbollah war sparks mass displacement, Qatar hosts thousands

Nearly 8,000 people remain stranded in Qatar as airspace closures continue across the region. Flights have been suspended due to the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, leaving travelers unable to depart. Authorities have urged passengers to stay in touch with airlines for updates and to avoid traveling to airports without confirmed tickets.

In Lebanon, the humanitarian situation has worsened as the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies. The UNHCR reports that at least 30,000 people have sought shelter since the violence began on Monday. Many others are sleeping in their cars or stuck in traffic along major roads, unable to reach safe zones.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia condemned the Iranian drone attack on the US embassy in Riyadh. The Foreign Ministry called the assault “treacherous” and reaffirmed the kingdom’s right to defend itself and its interests, including the option of retaliatory measures.

Hezbollah, facing heavy Israeli strikes, declared it has “no option but to return to resistance.” Senior official Mahmoud Qmati stated, “Israel wanted open war, so let it be an open war. The era of patience has ended.”
