Shah Rukh Khan shares screen with Rajinikanth in Jailer 2? Post sends internet into frenzy

Excitement around Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth sharing screen space is growing after a fresh hint about the Bollywood superstar’s cameo in Jailer 2.

A social media post by Mohanlal’s stylist has reignited speculation that the two icons could finally appear together in the upcoming sequel directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.

The excitement began when Mohanlal’s stylist Jishad Shamsudeen shared an AI-generated image on Instagram showing a grey-haired Shah Rukh Khan driving a car, with Mohanlal in the passenger seat and Rajinikanth alongside Shiva Rajkumar in the back.

The caption suggested fans are waiting to see such a frame in Jailer 2, and while resharing the post, Jishad wrote “Kandippa irukkum” (for sure), hinting that the moment could indeed happen in the film.

Speculation about Shah Rukh Khan appearing in Jailer 2 has been circulating for months, though the makers have yet to make an official announcement. The sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer is expected to bring back Mohanlal as Mathew, the friend of Rajinikanth’s character Muthuvel Pandian.

Earlier, veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty also appeared to hint at Shah Rukh’s involvement during an interview, mentioning that several characters including Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Shah Rukh Khan, and Shiva Rajkumar would be involved in the conflict in the film.

If the cameo materializes, Jailer 2 will mark the first time Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan appear together on screen. While Rajinikanth’s iconic robot character Chitti briefly appeared in Ra.One (2011), the superstar himself did not shoot for the cameo due to health reasons at the time.

Fans also remember Shah Rukh paying tribute to Rajinikanth in the hit song “Lungi Dance” from Chennai Express (2013).

With a star-studded lineup and massive fan expectations, Jailer 2 is expected to hit theatres later this year, promising one of the most exciting collaborations in Indian cinema.
