Veteran actor Adnan Siddiqui has shared his thoughts on the enduring debate around the drama Mere Paas Tum Ho, explaining why he believes his character, Shehwar, wasn’t the villain.
Speaking on Shan-e-Suhoor, Siddiqui said Shehwar was honest from the start. “He was always upfront about his interests and never hid his intentions. He even informed Mehwish about his marital status, and he genuinely fell for her while being ready to commit,” he explained.
The actor argued that the audience has often misjudged Shehwar’s actions. According to him, the real fault lies with Mehwish, whose choices fueled the conflict. “People may feel both were wrong, but it’s mostly Mehwish who can be seen as the villain, not Shehwar,” Siddiqui added.
Mere Paas Tum Ho remains a cultural phenomenon, with its characters still sparking debates years after the show aired. Siddiqui’s candid remarks provide a fresh perspective on the storyline and character motivations, reminding fans of the nuanced dynamics that made the drama a hit.
Earlier, Popular Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui landed in hot water after comments he made about women on a TV show, suggesting that a woman’s feet reveal her character.

He explained further that, in his opinion, a person’s hands and feet tell him about their cleanliness and personality as a whole.
“What is important to me is how clean someone is. Everything else comes second,” he explained.
He added further, “Apart from feet, nothing else really matters to me — just that the girl is alive, that’s enough.
