Iran welcomed the announcement and publicly thanked Saudi Arabia for the decision. Iran’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alireza Enayati, stated that Tehran appreciates Riyadh’s clear commitment not to permit its territory, seas, or skies to be used for operations targeting Iran. According to him, the move reflects a responsible regional approach and contributes to reducing tensions in the Middle East.
The declaration comes at a time when relations between Iran and the United States remain strained, raising concerns about possible military escalation. Saudi Arabia has reportedly engaged in diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions and encouraging dialogue between different parties in the region.

Meanwhile, Prince Turki Al-Faisal, the former head of Saudi intelligence, recently spoke about the growing tensions in the region during an international media interview. He suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had made several visits to Washington in an attempt to persuade former U.S. President Donald Trump to support a military confrontation.
Prince Turki argued that the push toward conflict reflects Israel’s strategic objectives rather than a broader international consensus. He said Netanyahu seeks greater freedom to pursue military actions without significant restrictions or opposition.
Observers believe Saudi Arabia’s latest statement sends a strong signal that the kingdom prefers diplomacy and de-escalation over confrontation.
