Nine illegal Afghan nationals arrested from Attock, Murree, Jhelum

Nine illegal Afghan nationals were arrested during joint search and combing operations in Attock, Murree and Jhelum in view of security concerns, it was reported on Tuesday.

According to report, joint operations of police, elite force, CTD and intelligence agencies were conducted in different areas.

As many as 263 personnel participated in search operations.

Cases have been registered for violation of tenancy laws and further legal action is underway.

Operations were also conducted in Fateh Jang, Jund, Pindi Gheb, Hazro, Hassan Abdal, Attock, Kotli Satyan, Phagwari, Patriata and New Murree Bazaar of Murree.

During operations, 365 houses, 1521 people and 774 vehicles in Attock district were checked and 2 illegal Afghan nationals were arrested in Attock and cases registered under Tenancy Act.

About 11 shops, 125 people and 15 hotels in different areas of Murree were checked and 5 illegal Afghan nationals were arrested in Murree.

In Jhelum, 167 houses and 379 people were checked and 2 illegal Afghan nationals were arrested while one person was arrested for violating tenancy laws.

Action against suspicious elements and illegal activities has intensified and security arrangements tightened during joint search operations.
