Repatriation of Pakistanis stranded in Iran continues for 10th day

The return of Pakistanis stranded in Iran continued for the 10th consecutive day.

According to details surfaced on Tuesday, Gwadar Deputy Commissioner Naqeebullah Kakar said that 111 people, including 15 students, reached Pakistan through the Gabd-Rimdan border crossing.

He said those crossing the border included five Iranian citizens, 48 Pakistani businessmen and eight seamen. According to the deputy commissioner, a total of 1,121 people, including 330 students, have reached Pakistan from Iran during the past 10 days.

He said all local and foreign nationals arriving from Iran are guests of the Balochistan government.

“Besides students, there were 48 Pakistani businessmen and eight seamen,” he said, adding that a total of 1,121 Pakistanis, including 330 students, had returned home during the last 10 days.

Ever since the start of the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, thousands of Pakistanis, who had been left stuck in the Gulf country, have returned home via different routes.

Soon after the start of the war, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while chairing a meeting, had directed that the safe return of all Pakistanis stranded in Iran should be ensured.
