3,000 FC personnel to be deployed in Balochistan to improve security: Naqvi

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrives in Quetta on a one-day visit. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti welcomes the Federal Interior Minister upon his arrival at the Chief Minister Secretariat.

During the meeting Interior Minister Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti discuss various important issues including law and order in the province.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti chaired a high-level meeting on law and order. The senior officials of federal and provincial departments attended the meeting which held detailed briefing on important issues including law and order, return of Afghan refugees, elimination of hawala hundi and extortion and smuggling.

Chairman NADRA, DG FIA, DG NCCI and IG Federal Constabulary briefed the participants on relevant issues.

During the meeting it was decided that the services of Federal Constabulary will be given to Balochistan govt to establish peace and stability. It was agreed that around 3,000 personnel comprising two wings of Federal Constabulary will be deployed in the first phase.

It was decided that FIA will be made more active in Balochistan and local people will be recruited for all vacant posts.

Balochistan govt and federal government agreed to make monitoring of anti-state activities on social media effective and it was agreed that crackdown will be intensified against elements involved in baseless propaganda on social media against the state.

Federal government assures all possible support to Balochistan government. “Will provide all possible support to increase the professional capacity of Balochistan Police”, said Federal Interior Minister Naqvi, adding that Centre is fully aware of the situation in Balochistan and will provide all possible support to establish peace.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said, “We are fighting with full strength and determination to eradicate terrorism.”

He said that war against terrorism is not only the responsibility of the security forces but also the joint war of the entire nation.

Chief Minister Bugti said that “we will ensure the rule of law of the state at all costs”.
