Iran emerges stronger after conflict, gains global oil influence, U.S. analyst

Despite recent flare-ups in the region, it seems that Iran is in a much stronger position compared to before, according to an analysis by an American political analyst and University of Chicago Professor Robert Pape. According to him, not only has Iran been able to maintain the strength of its military but also seems to have gained control over global oil markets.

In his media briefing to the world, Professor Pape pointed out that recent steps by Iran in the face of the ongoing conflict have resulted in the disturbance of oil traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, an important energy artery for the world. This, he added, is resulting in a series of energy shocks for global oil markets.

“Over the last 17 days, Iran has secured extraordinary strategic gains,” Pape pointed out in his analysis, hinting at the fact that recent steps by Iran have resulted in a shift in power balances in the region.

Pape’s analysis comes in the wake of recent developments in the region, including an announced attack by Israel on Iranian security chief Ali Larijani and disturbances in oil traffic routes in the region. He further added that this is an indication of the fact that Iran is using a sophisticated strategy in the region.

“The conflict shows that Iran can leverage both military leverage and economic tools to fortify its position,” Pape further added in his analysis, hinting at the fact that this may pose a threat to US-led alliances in the region.

According to recent analysis by experts in the region, it seems that Iran is in a much stronger position compared to before. This may have a long-term impact on global markets and alliances.
