China has cautioned that a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict could plunge the entire region into a dangerous situation, with far-reaching consequences for stability and security. The warning came from Foreign Ministry spokesperson Gao Jiaquan, who emphasized that the use of military force would only worsen the situation rather than resolve underlying issues.
“Escalating conflict will complicate matters and increase regional instability,” Gao said, speaking to international media. “The use of power is not a solution; it will create more problems and put the entire region at risk.”
The spokesperson highlighted the importance of dialogue and diplomacy, urging all parties involved to halt military operations and return to negotiations. “We are closely monitoring developments and remain in contact with all relevant countries concerning the Strait of Hormuz,” Gao added, underlining China’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the strategic waterway.
Analysts note that tensions in the region have already disrupted energy markets, shipping routes, and regional security dynamics. China’s warning reflects growing international concern that further escalation could trigger a broader crisis with economic and humanitarian repercussions.
China has consistently advocated for restraint and multilateral dialogue, stressing that solutions must be sought through negotiation rather than confrontation. Gao’s comments reinforce Beijing’s stance that military actions risk undermining efforts for long-term peace and stability.
As global eyes remain on the region, China’s call for calm and diplomacy highlights the urgent need for restraint, coordination, and dialogue among all stakeholders to prevent the conflict from spiraling out of control.
