Russian Ambassador Khorev felicitates Pakistan on National Day

On the occasion of Pakistan Day, Ambassador Albert P. Khorev extended warm greetings to the government and people of Pakistan, marking the historic significance of the national celebration and reaffirming goodwill between nations.

In his message, the ambassador congratulated Pakistan on its national holiday, highlighting the importance of March 23 as a defining moment in the country’s history. He noted that this year commemorates the 86th anniversary of the adoption of the Lahore Resolution in 1940, a landmark event that laid the foundation for the creation of an independent state for Muslims of the subcontinent in 1947.

He acknowledged the resilience and determination of the Pakistani nation, stating that the people of Pakistan have successfully overcome the challenges faced during the country’s early years. He praised their ability to preserve cultural identity and uphold national traditions while progressing forward.

The ambassador also expressed admiration for Pakistan’s continued efforts toward growth and stability, emphasizing the importance of unity and hard work in achieving national development goals.

Concluding his message, Ambassador Khorev conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan, hoping for their continued health, prosperity, and success.

Earlier, Pakistan marked its annual Pakistan Day on March 23 with patriotic fervor, gun salutes, and ceremonial events across the country, albeit on a modest scale in line with government austerity measures amid the ongoing Gulf oil crisis.

The day commemorates the historic Lahore Resolution, when the All-India Muslim League adopted the resolution calling for a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent. Leaders highlighted the occasion as a reminder of unity, resilience, and the nation’s achievements.
