The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has introduced a digital track and trace system to improve transparency and oversight in the petroleum sector, it was reported on Tuesday.
The move is an important step towards petroleum sector digitalization.
The step was taken in collaboration with OGRA and PITB under which digital monitoring of oil supply chain has started.
An important training session was held at OGRA head office and more than 200 representatives participated it.
Data integration from refinery to retail is a major change in petroleum system.
OGRA Chairman said digital system will increase transparency and efficiency.
Shahzad Iqbal said movement of petroleum products will now be monitored in real time.
OGRA’s commitment is that technology-based reforms in the oil sector will be accelerated.
OGRA announced increasing cooperation with stakeholders and digital platform has been activated.
