Pakistan plans special protection unit for Chinese citizens and investors

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong to address security concerns faced by Chinese investors and citizens in the country.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to organize a business conference aimed at resolving these issues and strengthening cooperation. They also discussed counterterrorism efforts and broader security collaboration.

The government will engage with the Chinese business community already operating in Pakistan during the first phase. In the next stage, officials will hold meetings with potential Chinese investors interested in entering the market.

Mohsin Naqvi announced that authorities are setting up a dedicated Special Protection Unit to enhance the safety of foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens. This unit will operate in Islamabad and focus on ensuring secure conditions for residents and investors. Officials will also receive Chinese language training to improve communication and coordination.
