An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi heard a case related to the November 26 protest. The proceedings were conducted under the supervision of Amjad Ali Shah.
During the hearing, a request was filed on behalf of Aleema Khan seeking exemption from personal appearance. The application was submitted by her legal counsel, citing reasons for her absence from court.
The court reviewed the request and approved the exemption. As a result, Aleema Khan was not required to appear before the court during the hearing.
The case is linked to a protest incident that took place on November 26. Legal proceedings are ongoing, and several aspects of the case are still under consideration.
After completing initial proceedings, the court decided to adjourn the hearing. The next date has been set for March 6, when further developments in the case are expected.
Earlier, Aleema Khan rejected claims that she is blocking meetings between Imran Khan and party leaders. She said such reports are baseless. She added that she herself has not been able to meet her brother.
Talking to media outside Adiala Jail, she said people across Pakistan are demanding Imran Khan’s release. She said voices are also being raised internationally. She expressed hope that changing global circumstances and public pressure will lead to his release soon.
