Qatar halts visa-on-arrival for Pakistanis

Qatar has temporarily suspended its visa-on-arrival facility for Pakistani nationals, prompting travelers to secure visas in advance before departure, according to an advisory issued by the Pakistan Embassy in Doha.

The embassy clarified that, due to the prevailing situation, Pakistani citizens will no longer be able to obtain a visa upon arrival in Qatar. Travelers arriving without a pre-arranged visa may face entry restrictions and potential inconvenience at immigration.

Officials have strongly advised all Pakistanis planning to visit Qatar to complete the necessary visa formalities prior to travel to avoid disruption. The advisory underscores that entry into Qatar now requires a valid visa obtained beforehand until further notice.

Earlier, Qatar reaffirmed that it would invest $3 billion in Pakistan, as the two nations signed various protocols for improved economic and technical cooperation during the sixth meeting of the Pakistan–Qatar Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) in Islamabad.

In accordance with a statement released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the session was co-chaired by Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan and Qatar’s Commerce Minister Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al-Thani.
