An Indian policy magazine has acknowledged that Pakistan’s growing diplomatic role in easing tensions between Iran and the United States has created challenges for India’s regional influence.
In an article written by Indian journalist and analyst Sushant Singh, the publication stated that Pakistan has recently moved to the center of diplomatic efforts in the region. The writer noted that Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, is playing an important role in international engagements, reflecting a shift in regional dynamics.
According to the article, Pakistan has strengthened its diplomatic standing while maintaining close ties with China. The analysis claimed that India has been sidelined in key discussions related to Middle Eastern tensions, which it described as a setback for the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The writer argued that India’s attempts to diplomatically isolate Pakistan have not succeeded, as major global powers are increasingly engaging with Islamabad. Pakistan, the article said, is now being viewed as an important player in promoting stability and dialogue in the Middle East.
It further suggested that Pakistan’s current diplomatic position is similar to the role it played during the 1971 Indo-Pak war period, when it acted as a bridge between major powers. The article also claimed that US President Donald Trump has shown greater confidence in Pakistan’s mediation efforts during recent developments.
The analysis concluded that Pakistan’s active diplomacy has strengthened its global image, while India’s foreign policy efforts appear limited to statements rather than practical engagement in ongoing regional matters.
