Deputy PM and FM Ishaq Dar has appreciated a clarification issued by Iran’s FM Abbas Araghchi that Tehran’s leadership has not refused to go to Islamabad for peace talks.
“Truly appreciate your clarification, my Dear Brother,” Dar wrote in response to Araghchi’s post on X.
Earlier, Iran Foreign Minister M Abbas Araghchi has said that Tehran has never refused to go to Islamabad for possible talks on the ongoing war, adding that, “Iran’s position is being misrepresented by US media”.
Taking to his social media account on X, Araghchi emphasized that “We are deeply grateful to Pakistan for its efforts and have never refused to go to Islamabad. What we care about are the terms of a conclusive and lasting END to the illegal war that is imposed on us”. He also shared a video showing Iranians waving Pakistan’s flags in an apparent show of appreciation of Pakistan’s stance and its people.
