As many as 70 two-way flights of different airlines to the Gulf and the Middle East from the country’s international airports were cancelled on Saturday as war in the Gulf lingers on, bringing the total number of flights cancelled during the last 35 days to 2,670.
However, further improvement was witnessed in the flight operation from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport to the war-torn region on Saturday as only four flights, heading to Doha and Dubai, were cancelled.
On the other hand, 26 flights heading from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport to different destinations in the region namely Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain, cities in Iran and Iraq, Riyadh, Muscat and Dubai were cancelled, while from Islamabad airport, 24 flights heading to Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Sharjah, Muscat, Riyadh and Kuwait were cancelled.
Eight flights heading from Peshawar to Doha, Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi were cancelled.
Four flights heading from Multan to Dubai were cancelled, while at Sialkot airport, four Dubai and Sharjah-bound flights were cancelled.
Similarly, two flights were cancelled at Faisalabad airport.
