Police in Kalar Kahar on Tuesday arrested Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Moeen Qureshi while he was on his way to Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.
The opposition leader was taken into custody along with MPAs Ali Imtiaz Warraich, Farrukh Javed Moon and Sheikh Imtiaz from Kalar Kahar’s rest area.
Aleema Khan, former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister had on Friday called on at least 10,000 office-bearers from nearby districts to gather outside Adiala Jail, saying sustained pressure was essential.
“Without pressure, the founder will not be released,” she asserted, adding that those unwilling to endure hardship should step aside for others to lead.
