Pakistani film star Fahad Mustafa is set to make a striking return to cinemas this Eidul Azha with his upcoming horror film Zombeid, marking a bold shift from traditional genres in mainstream Pakistani cinema.
The film also reunites him with Mehwish Hayat after an eight-year gap since their popular film Load Wedding. The project is directed by Nabeel Qureshi, making it the fourth collaboration between the trio, following successful ventures like Na Maloom Afraad and Actor in Law.
The film is produced in partnership with Fizza Ali Meerza, continuing a creative alliance that has previously delivered major box office hits. With Zombeid, the team is stepping into the horror genre—an area still relatively unexplored in Pakistan’s commercial film industry.
The first poster of the film has already generated significant buzz on social media. The artwork presents a dark and eerie theme, featuring everyday objects such as headphones, a mobile phone, a syringe, and a dumbbell, all splattered with blood. The visuals hint at a gripping zombie storyline and suggest a fresh cinematic experience for local audiences.
Fans have responded enthusiastically, praising Fahad Mustafa’s willingness to experiment with new roles and genres. Many are calling Zombeid one of the most anticipated releases of the year, especially as it combines star power with an unconventional theme.
Adding to the excitement, Mehwish Hayat recently celebrated her birthday on set, sharing behind-the-scenes moments with her team, further fueling anticipation among fans.
Fahad Mustafa’s return follows the success of his recent Eidul Fitr film Aag Lagay Basti Mein, which performed strongly at both local and international box offices, reinforcing his status as one of Pakistan’s leading film stars.
