Peshawar Zalmi crush Lahore Qalandars by 76 runs in PSL 11 clash

Peshawar Zalmi delivered a dominant all-round performance to defeat Lahore Qalandars by 76 runs in the PSL 11 at the National Stadium Karachi on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 174, Lahore Qalandars were bowled out for just 97 in 17 overs.

Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman were the only notable contributors for Qalandars, scoring 21 runs each.

Dunith Wellalage added 20, while Sikandar Raza made 14.

The rest of the batting lineup failed to offer resistance, with captain Shaheen Shah Afridi managing 5, and others falling cheaply, including Asif Ali, who was dismissed for a duck.

Zalmi’s bowlers Michael Bracewell and Sufiyan Muqeem claimed three wickets apiece to dismantle the batting order.

Nahid Rana picked up two wickets, while Aamir Jamal and Arif Yaqoob chipped in with one each.

Earlier, after being put into bat by Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi posted 173 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Mendis led the charge with a fluent 74, anchoring the innings and providing momentum.

Captain Babar Azam added 43 runs, offering stability at the top, while Ben Curran Breswell chipped in with 21 to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Lahore Qalandars’ bowling unit, spearheaded by captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, staged a disciplined fightback to restrict the total.

Afridi claimed three wickets, applying pressure during crucial phases of the innings.

Mustafizur Rahman supported well with two wickets, while Obaid Shah and Usama Mir picked up one apiece.
