Islamabad court issues non-bailable arrest warrants for KP CM Afridi

ISLAMABAD: A District and Sessions Court in federal capital on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi over allegations of making misleading statements about state institutions and tarnishing their reputation.

Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah ordered the authorities to arrest him and produced before the judiciary. He later adjourned the hearing until April 16.

The case against Afridi has been filed under the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) by the National Counter Corruption and Investigation Authority (NCCIA).
