A new species of stick insect in southern China has been declared the world’s longest insect, state media announced on Thursday.
Experts at the Chinese Museum claim that the world’s longest worm is present in their museum.
In 2014, they discovered an insect resembling a dry tree branch in the forests of southern China.
Xiao, 45, took the worm to the museum, which laid six eggs in December. One of them produced the longest worm recorded at 64 cm in length.
