Meghan and Harry ‘know Oprah interview will upset royals’ but ‘won’t hold back’

Meghan Markle will address the “highs and lows” of royal life to “take control of her story”, but she and Prince Harry won’t be settling scores in a “brutal way” during their Oprah Winfrey interview, it is claimed

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry know their interview with Oprah Winfrey will upset the royals but feel they have nothing to lose and won’t hold back, it has been claimed.

New details about Meghan’s pregnancy and the couple’s split from the Royal Family are to be revealed when their tell-all primetime interview with the chat show queen airs in the US on March 7.

It is said that Meghan, 39, feels “let down” by the Firm and will address the “highs and lows” of her short-lived royal life in a bid to “take control of her story”.

But she and Harry, 36, won’t be settling scores in a brutal way during the interview, a source has reporttedly said.

After being stripped of their last remaining royal patronages a year after quitting life as senior royals and moving to the Los Angeles area, the couple’s attitude now is ‘why hold back?’, it is claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, already parents to one-year-old son Archie, announced on Valentine’s Day they are expecting their second child.

It is thought that former Suits actress Meghan is about five months pregnant and the baby is due in early summer.

It was expected that the Sussexes would one day sit down with Oprah or another chat show heavyweight to tell their story after quitting royal life.

A source told Heat World that the couple were able to “set the agenda” though Oprah, a daytime TV star Meghan idolised as a child, “pushed them” to make it a gripping piece of television.

The source claims the Sussexes aren’t out to offend the royal or completely sever ties with the firm, but Meghan feels “let down” by her in-laws and sees the interview as a chance to “take control of her story”.

It is said the couple felt like they had nothing else to lose by sitting down with Oprah for an interview that will be watched by tens of millions of people around the world.

The source claimed: “Meghan will be addressing the highs and lows of her life as a royal, even though she knows this will upset a lot of people in the palace.

“And now their remaining royal affiliations have been removed, their attitude is ‘Why hold back?’ They feel strongly that it is time for them to speak up for themselves, and to put to rest so much of the speculation that’s out there.
