A player from Islamabad United’s squad has tested positive for coronavirus ahead of the clash with Quetta Gladiators on Monday.
The Pakistan Cricket Board, following the development, confirmed that the match scheduled to begin at 7pm, has been delayed by two hours — and will start at 9pm.

The players who are currently at the hotel are awaiting the results of the rapid coronavirus tests.
In response to the development, Islamabad United confirmed that one of their players had tested positive, while all of the others players were cleared to play.
“One of our players, Fawad Ahmed tested positive for Covid and was immediately put in isolation 2 days ago. All other Islamabad United players & members have tested negative & have been cleared to play,” they said, wishing him a speedy recovery.
According to PCB protocol, the player tested positive, will remain in isolation until he returns with two negative results in 10 days time.
Furthermore, reacting to the incident, Ahmed asked everyone to remember him in their prayers, as he thanked people for their kind messages.
Thanks for all the kind messages, please keep remember me in ur prayers, much needed @IsbUnited @thePSLt20, and please everyone stay safe,” he said.
