Stage set for PTI’s Kahna power show as caravans en route to Lahore

KP Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi said Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur would not seek apology in the rally over his remarks made in the Islamabad rally on September 8.

“The CM did not utter any wrong statement for which he should apology,” he said, claiming there was no condition of extending an apology in the deputy commissioner’s no objection certificate.

PTI Pakpattan General Secretary Chaudhry Rizwan said 20 party workers including Chaudhry Naeem Ibrahim were being whisked away to police station after stopping their convoy at Okara Toll Plaza.

KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has assured the PTI leadership and local administration of not making uncalled for remarks in his speech, sources told Geo News.

Following Gandapur’s assurance, the routes towards the PTI rally venue are expected to be cleared, they said.

As per the sources, Gandapur promised to convey the message to the workers in a parliamentary language. He consulted the senior party leadership regarding his speech as well.

The CM also assured not to bring workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, they said.

Police have taken PTI leader Chaudhry Aqeel Aslam Arain into custody from Pattoki ahead of his party’s Kahna rally in Lahore.

Arain’s brother told Geo News Saddar police station officials detained the PTI leader.

A spokesperson for Punjab Police on Saturday said no route leading to Lahore has been closed, which could be witnessed in the Safe City’s surveillance camera footage as well.

Meanwhile, the vehicles going towards Lahore have been stopped at Kamalia Rajana Interchange on Motorway M-3.
