Omar Ayub criticises govt for ‘use of forces’ to pass six bills in National Assembly

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly session on Tuesday was adjourned indefinitely after the address of Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan who criticised the treasury for passing bills “through use of force”.

He said the opposition was gaged [for passing the bills] yesterday. These bills should have been discussed in the Standing Committee, Omar added.

He called the way the six bills were passed a day ago a “shameful incident” and branded the ruling coalition a “government of thieves”.

Deputy Speaker Mir Ghulam Mustafa Shah ordered removing his remarks from the record.

Following his remarks, the assembly’s YouTube channel livestream was stopped. Earlier, the livestream on PTV Parliament’s YouTube channel was also stopped as soon as Omar Ayub began his speech.
