Punjab govt sends medical supplies, air ambulance to Parachinar

LAHORE: The Punjab government sent a large consignment of medical supplies and an air ambulance to Parachinar in response to worsening conditions.

Punjab Health Ministers Khawaja Imran Nazir and Khawaja Salman Rafique confirmed the development in a conversation with Samaa TV. They stated that six more trucks carrying medicines were being dispatched to the affected region.

The Punjab chief secretary contacted the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) administration to coordinate relief efforts. According to Nazir, the KP authorities were asked to provide a detailed list of essential items. He criticised the KP government for prioritising political issues over addressing the health crisis.

Rafiq said: “An air ambulance evacuated one patient to Rawalpindi and pledged the continuation of air ambulance services in Parachinar.”

He urged the KP government to focus on local issues rather than engaging in federal disputes.

Nazir stated that road closures had exacerbated medicine shortages, and KP’s chief minister should prioritise on-ground management.

He also highlighted the Punjab government’s commitment to supporting the people of KP, mentioning Maryam Nawaz’s involvement in relief efforts.
