Saba Qamar has announced that she is taking legal action against a journalist whom she accused of spreading false and baseless claims about her.
The actress urged her colleagues and fans to take similar stands against those who attempt to defame or disrespect them.
Taking to Instagram, Saba shared a message on her Story, revealing that she had initiated legal proceedings.
“Today, I’ve taken legal action against a journalist who spread false and baseless claims about me,” she wrote.
The Baaghi actress emphasized the importance of standing up for one’s dignity and truth in the face of false allegations.
“I want to say this to everyone – my fans, my colleagues, and my industry – stand up for yourself when someone tries to defame or disrespect you.
“No one has the right to make false accusations just for attention,” she added.
Saba encouraged her peers not to stay silent in such situations, urging them to use legal means to hold accountable those who misuse media platforms for personal agendas.
“Don’t stay silent. Call out such behavior and hold people accountable. Let’s bring change — by speaking the truth and standing strong,” she wrote.
The actress did not name the journalist involved, but her post quickly went viral, prompting widespread discussion among fans and within the entertainment fraternity.
Saba Qamar, known for her fearless roles and outspoken personality, has often been vocal about social issues and the need for professionalism in the industry.
However, she recently landed in controversy over her remarks about preferring Lahore and Islamabad to Karachi.
The conversation began after Saba appeared on a podcast, where she was asked if she would ever consider moving to Karachi permanently. Her response, “Astaghfirullah, never!” quickly went viral, prompting the Kamli star to clarify that she only visits the city for work and then returns home.

“I just go there, do my work, and come back,” she said with a laugh, adding that she wouldn’t mind moving if someone bought her a house there — “though I already have one.”
Her remarks led to a wave of mixed reactions online. Some social media users accused her of being dismissive toward Karachi, while others defended her right to have a personal preference. The debate soon gained traction among fellow celebrities.
Actor Iffat Omar defended Qamar’s statement, calling it an honest opinion rather than an insult, while Javeria Saud disagreed. “The city is not dirty; people’s minds are dirty,” Saud said in a response shared on Instagram.
Actor Yasir Hussain, known for his humor, joined in by posting a lighthearted meme about Karachi, which Qamar later reshared, writing, “You all are too funny. Peace, guys – Karachi is beautiful, just keep it clean and it’ll have my whole heart.”
Amid the buzz, Zhalay Sarhadi also added her voice to the conversation, expressing her affection for Karachi. In an Instagram post, she described the city as full of life and opportunity, saying, “Karachi may have its challenges, but its energy and spirit are unmatched. It’s a city that gives work, love, and strength to everyone who comes here.”
