Mehar Bano channels Aladdin for dance clip to Diljit Dosanjh

Mehr Bano uploaded a short dance video in which she adopts the visual style of Jasmine from Disney’s Aladdin and performs a routine set to Diljit Dosanjh’s track Charmer.

In the video, Bano appears in a turquoise two-piece outfit with gold accents and traditional jewellery elements that nod toward the familiar look associated with the character.

Shot in a long, ornate corridor, the sequence focuses on choreographed footwork and arm patterns timed to the song’s beats.

Lighting and set choice emphasize the costume and movement, and the framing keeps the performer centred throughout the clip.

The selection of Diljit Dosanjh’s “Charmer” as the soundtrack repurposes a contemporary Punjabi pop track for the dance performance.

The pairing of a South Asian musical style with an iconic Western animated costume provides such an enjoyable contrast.

Pakistani actress Mehar Bano is one of the most dynamic and expressive performers of her generation, known for fearlessly choosing complex roles and bringing an unmistakable artistic flair to every project she takes on.

She first gained major attention with her standout performance in “Daagh”, earning a nomination for Best Actress at the Lux Style Awards early in her career. Since then, she has built an impressive portfolio, including memorable turns in Balaa, Mere Paas Tum Ho, Churails, Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam, and Sar-e-Rah.

Her ability to shift effortlessly between gritty, emotionally layered characters and sharp, modern narratives has made her a favourite among both drama lovers and critics.

Beyond acting, Mehar Bano is celebrated for her bold, experimental style choices. Whether it’s contemporary high-fashion or edgy statement pieces, she isn’t afraid to step outside conventional boundaries, a trait that often places her at the centre of style conversations.

She is also a trained dancer and the founder of Sway Dance Project, a platform dedicated to modern dance and movement. Her expressive choreography and love for performance have become a defining aspect of her public persona, further cementing her as an artist who thrives on creative freedom and self-expression.
