The Roll Ball World Cup is an international men’s and women’s tournament organised by the International Roll Ball Federation (IRBF) and has been held regularly since its inception in 2011.
The inaugural World Cup took place at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune, India, where Denmark emerged as champions and India finished as runners-up.
Subsequent editions of the tournament have been hosted across Asia and Africa. India won the 2013 World Cup in Nairobi, Kenya, after defeating Iran in the final, and successfully defended the title in Pune by beating the same opponents.
Bangladesh hosted the 2017 World Cup in Dhaka, where India claimed both the men’s and women’s titles against Iran.
The 2019 World Cup was held in Chennai, India, with India winning the men’s final against Kenya, while the Kenyan women’s team defeated India in the women’s final. In the 2023 edition hosted by India in Pune, Kenya emerged as champions in both the men’s and women’s categories.
Pakistan’s victory over Poland has raised hopes for a strong showing in the remainder of the Dubai tournament, as the team looks to build momentum in the upcoming matches.
