President Asif Ali Zardari has also visited the shrine of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and Hazrat Abbas bin Ali (AS) in Karbala to offer his respects, it was reported on Wednesday.
Karbala Governor Dr Nasif Jassim Al-Khattabi was also present alongside the President of Pakistan during his visit to the shrine.
President Zardari offered fateha and nawafil at both the shrines.
The President described the sacrifice of Hazrat Hussain (AS) as an eternal symbol of truth, justice, and steadfastness.
President Zardari prayed for the peace, unity, and security of the Muslim Ummah.
While speaking at the shrine of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the President described his teachings as a guide for truth, justice, and humanity.
The President also met with the custodians and preachers of both the shrines.
