The Sindh cabinet has approved compensation for the victims of the Gul Plaza tragedy, it was reported on Tuesday.
The families of the martyrs of the Gul Plaza tragedy will be given Rs10 million each.
It has also approved providing interest-free loans of Rs10 million each to the affected shopkeepers.
Chairing a meeting of Sindh cabinet, the Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that loans are being given to the shopkeepers to restart their business and the Sindh government will pay the interest due on Rs10 million.
He said the victims are being paid Rs500,000 each for kitchen and utility expenses.
We will take all possible steps for the safety and convenience of the shopkeepers, Murad Ali Shah said.
A sub-committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to investigate the Gul Plaza tragedy.
The sub-committee includes Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon, Provincial Ministers Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani and Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar.
The sub-committee will review the report of the inquiry committee headed by the Commissioner Karachi.
The subcommittee will decide on further action and course of action in light of the Commissioner’s report.
