Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said he will neither politicize the health of Imran Khan nor allow anyone else to do so.
In a message posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the chief minister stated that Imran Khan’s health is more important to him than politics. He acknowledged the grief and anger among supporters across the country but urged them to turn their emotions into strength rather than weakness.
He said difficult times require patience, wisdom, and strong nerves. “Hidden strategy in such moments becomes our greatest strength,” he added.
Sohail Afridi emphasized that Imran Khan is not an ordinary individual. He described him as Pakistan’s former and current prime minister and the lifelong chairman of the country’s largest political party. He alleged that Khan’s health had been compromised in what he termed an “unforgivable act.”
The chief minister said ensuring the best possible medical treatment for Imran Khan is the government’s top priority. He vowed not to rest until proper treatment is provided.
Addressing party workers, Afridi urged those who have gathered without an official call to remain peaceful wherever they are. He warned that opponents might attempt to infiltrate peaceful protests and create chaos to discredit the movement. He instructed supporters to stay vigilant against disruptive elements and avoid believing unverified information unless confirmed by Khan’s family or party leadership.
He assured the public that Imran Khan’s treatment would be conducted under the supervision of his personal physician, in consultation with his family. Afridi also noted that along with medical care—particularly related to Khan’s eye treatment—security arrangements would remain a priority.
