Islamabad Police carried out a large search operation in different parts of the federal capital to take action against criminals and illegal residents, officials said on Tuesday.
According to a police spokesperson, the operations were conducted in several areas of Islamabad, including the Industrial Area, Sihala, Sangjani, and Karachi Company. During the operation, police teams checked 395 individuals and searched 161 houses to verify residents and gather information.
Authorities also inspected 74 shops along with 101 hotels and guesthouses as part of the security measures. During the crackdown, 66 suspicious individuals, including 10 Afghan nationals, were taken into custody and shifted to relevant police stations for further investigation.
Police officials said they also recovered around 20 liters of alcohol, along with weapons and ammunition, during the operation. The search campaign was part of ongoing efforts to improve security and maintain law and order in the city.
