Television host and actress Fiza Ali has stirred a debate in the entertainment industry after criticizing the lack of variety in the appearance and style of many leading Pakistani actors. Her remarks, made during a recent podcast conversation, quickly caught public attention and sparked discussion among fans online.
During the podcast, Fiza Ali was speaking with veteran actor Usman Peerzada when she pointed out that many contemporary actors appear almost identical on screen.
According to Fiza, several top stars have adopted a similar look, making it difficult for audiences to distinguish them. She noted that many actors sport the same haircut, similar beard styles, gelled-back hair, and identical expressions, which she believes reduces individuality on television.
Referring to popular actors such as Wahaj Ali, Danish Taimoor, and Imran Ashraf, the host said that although they are handsome and talented, their on-screen appearances often look alike.
“I don’t see much versatility in them,” she remarked. “Their looks, styling, dressing, and even their expressions feel repetitive. How can viewers differentiate between them? Perhaps directors are responsible for shaping this uniform appearance.”
Adding to the discussion, Usman Peerzada reflected on the changing priorities in the entertainment industry. He suggested that many actors today are more focused on financial gain than artistic passion.
The veteran actor recalled an incident from the set of his project Teesra Kinara, which had gained significant popularity at the time. He shared that a team from India’s Doordarshan once visited the set due to the show’s success. However, when he requested higher payment, the director reportedly refused, telling him that acting should remain a passion rather than merely a profession.
In recent months, Fiza Ali has frequently made headlines for her outspoken comments and controversial discussions, particularly during Ramzan transmissions. She recently drew attention again after commenting on the public dispute involving Dr Nabiha Ali Khan and her husband.
