Pakistan Army is carrying out successful operations against the Fitna al-Khawarij and the Afghan Taliban in North Waziristan as Operation Ghazab Lil Haq is going great guns, it was reported on Wednesday.
Sources told the 24News TV channel that the Afghan Taliban were planning to infiltrate into Pakistani territory in the border town of Mawazkale.
However, timely response given by the Pakistan Army foiled their design.
Sources added that several Taliban lost their lives in the counter-attack launched by the army, while others fled their posts as their compounds and hideouts were completely destroyed.
Sources informed that the army was committed to go ahead with the operation until all objectives were met.
Pakistan Army launched the operation after repeatedly demanding the Afghan Taliban to rein in the militants operating from their soil against Pakistan.
However, despite overtures made to the Taliban, the latter gave no written assurances that the militants would not carry out attacks inside Pakistan.
On the other hand, there was no let-up in attacks by the militants, who continued to take the lives of security personnel as well as ordinary citizens.
