Senior Pakistani actress Marina Khan has spoken in support of Atiqa Odho after her remarks about Fahad Mustafa’s age pairing sparked widespread debate on social media and within the entertainment industry.
Atiqa Odho recently came under discussion following comments made during a television appearance, where she suggested that actors should be paired with co-stars of a similar age group. The statement quickly went viral and triggered mixed reactions, with some agreeing and others criticising the perspective.
The discussion escalated further after Fahad Mustafa responded in a light-hearted but controversial manner during a televised program, which some viewers interpreted as an age-related remark directed at Atiqa Odho. Although both artists later apologised, the conversation continued to circulate online and was revived again after comments by other celebrities added to the debate.
Marina Khan, who shares a close friendship with Atiqa Odho, defended her colleague’s statement, saying it was made casually and without any negative intent. She questioned the backlash, stating that people overreacted to what was originally a simple answer given in a rapid-fire segment.
She further added that the entertainment industry does not operate on strict age boundaries, as actors frequently work across generations and maintain professional relationships regardless of age differences.
