Hamas backs US–Iran talks

Hamas has welcomed the ongoing diplomatic engagement between the United States and Iran, reportedly taking place in Pakistan, and expressed hope that the talks will lead to a comprehensive resolution of the ongoing conflict.

In an official statement, the Palestinian group voiced support for the negotiations, describing them as an important step toward achieving a “complete and comprehensive end” to what it referred to as the US-Israeli war against Iran. The group emphasized that meaningful dialogue remains essential to reducing tensions and preventing further escalation in the region.

Hamas also praised Pakistan’s role as a facilitator of the talks, acknowledging its efforts to bring key parties to the negotiating table. The group said it is looking forward to the success of these diplomatic initiatives, as well as the contributions of other mediating countries involved in the process.

According to the statement, successful negotiations could open the door to positive developments across the region. Hamas expressed optimism that such outcomes would not only help restore stability but also strengthen unity among Arab and Islamic nations at a time of heightened geopolitical strain.

Earlier, Iran has released the official list of its high-level delegation participating in the ongoing “Islamabad Talks,” underscoring the importance Tehran is placing on the negotiations.

The delegation is led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, who is serving as head of the negotiating team. He is joined by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who will play a central role in diplomatic discussions with international counterparts.

Iran’s representation also includes its Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam, reflecting the importance of bilateral coordination during the talks hosted in Islamabad.
