Karachi Port Trust official has said that the container ship MV Sailan, operated by AP Line, has docked at Karachi Port. It is the first container ship to arrive in Pakistan since the recent disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to sources, the ship has reached Karachi from Jebel Ali, which is being described as an important symbol of the revival of containerized trade. This development is also expected to increase confidence in the maritime transport system.
Officials say that this success is the result of effective cooperation between the port, shipping and logistics related organizations, thanks to which the continuity of cargo operations was maintained. According to experts, the arrival of more ships in the coming days is likely to accelerate trade activities.
