Global pop icon Taylor Swift has once again dominated the American Music Awards (AMAs) nominations, leading this year’s list with eight nods across major categories, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.
Swift’s nominated track The Fate of Ophelia is competing for Song of the Year, while her album The Life of a Showgirl is in contention for Album of the Year. The recognition further strengthens her status as one of the most awarded artists in AMA history.
Known for breaking records with her Eras Tour, which became the highest-grossing concert tour ever, Swift continues to shape the global music industry, especially through her widely discussed decision to re-record her early albums to regain ownership of her music catalogue.
Hot on her heels this year are Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, Morgan Wallen, and SOMBR, each earning seven nominations. Carpenter also joins the race for Artist of the Year, while Dean and SOMBR celebrate their first-ever AMA nominations, including recognition in the New Artist category.
The lineup also features the voice cast behind Netflix’s animated hit KPop Demon Hunters, including EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, who received nominations for their chart-topping track Golden. A win for them would mark a career milestone with their first AMA award.
Winners will be decided by fans and announced at a live ceremony in Las Vegas on May 25, hosted by entertainer Queen Latifah. The show will air live on CBS and Paramount+, bringing together some of the biggest names in global music.
