Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has accorded in-principle approval to further streamline and integrate Public-Private Partnership Authority and its associated system to expedite development projects through Public Private Partnership.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said this while chairing a meeting regarding Public-Private Partnership in Islamabad on Tuesday.
It was decided that Public-Private Partnership Authority will operate under Privatization Division to align its performance with modern requirements and to speed up projects under Public-Private Partnership.
The Prime Minister directed that the capacity of relevant ministries and departments be enhanced to effectively initiate development projects through Public-Private Partnership.
He directed that development projects undertaken through Public-Private Partnership be made part of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for evaluating the performance of ministries and departments.
The Prime Minister said efforts are being made to make the Public-Private Partnership more transparent and efficient through Public-Private Partnership Authority.
The meeting was briefed on a comparative analysis of Public-Private Partnership models being implemented in various countries at regional and global levels.
