Tensions were reported along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border after what security sources described as unprovoked firing and aggression by armed elements across the frontier, prompting a military response in the Chaman sector.
Pakistan’s armed forces carried out targeted action under “Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq”, striking several positions and vehicles linked to Afghan Taliban posts in the area.
The security sources said the response forced opposing elements to retreat after what they described as effective and precise counter-operations by the military.
They added that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain committed to defending the country’s territorial integrity and ensuring border security at all times.
Security officials further stated that the ongoing operation would continue until all designated objectives are achieved.
