Araghchi accuses UAE of involvement in anti-Iran activities

TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was directly involved in anti-Iran activities.

According to an Iranian news agency, the foreign minister said in a statement that he had earlier refrained from naming the UAE in interest of the solidarity.

Araghchi stated that when attacks against Iran began, the UAE did not even condemn them, and urged Abu Dhabi to reconsider its policy toward Iran.

It is worth noting that a day earlier, Anwar Gargash, adviser to the UAE president, said in a statement that the Emirates had never wanted war and had made sincere efforts to prevent it.

In his remarks, the UAE presidential adviser reiterated the importance of political solutions and dialogue.

Gargash added that Arab-Iran relations in the Gulf cannot be built on confrontation and conflict.
